Clinical-psychological examination provides the most accurate clinical picture of the psychopathology, personality traits and level of cognitive functions of the patient. It is a more extensive examination, usually involves a minimum of two visits and usually takes up to 4 hours. Unlike the tests we perform during the initial diagnostic consultation, which rely on subjective assessments of the client's own experience, clinical psychological tests also have objective predictive value (which is important, for example, in assessing the presence of autism spectrum disorder, attention deficit disorder, psychotic disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, possible permanent psychological consequences of a crime, etc.).
What is a clinical-psychological examination?

Conclusions of the clinical-psychological examination
The conclusions of the clinical-psychological examination are summarized in a detailed written report and can be used in dealings with various institutions such as civil and criminal authorities (for actions not requiring an expert opinion), OSPOD, educational-psychological counselling centres, school psychologists, etc. Furthermore, this examination is often required by psychiatrists to refine the planned medication or by psychotherapists to target psychotherapy more precisely.
A typical example would be mild autism spectrum disorder in the form of Asperger's syndrome in adolescents, which requires completely different procedures than, for example, the treatment of an anxiety disorder. However, many of the symptoms of both disorders may be the same and only a clinical-psychological examination can provide an accurate diagnosis.
